Change your password

What this does

You can change your password in "Settings" on the "General" tab, under "Profile". You enter your current password and a new one, and the change takes effect immediately.

How to do it

The password fields are in "Settings", which you reach from your account menu in the top right.

  1. Open "Settings" and stay on the "General" tab.
  2. Under "Profile", type your existing password in "Current password".
  3. Type your new password in "New password".
  4. Click "Update password".

Your new password works the next time you sign in.

Common questions

Why do I have to enter my current password?

Euphyr asks for your current password before setting a new one so that someone using a device you left signed in can't quietly change it. If the current password doesn't match, the change is refused.

What are the password requirements?

Your new password must be at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a symbol. It also has to be different from your current one. There's no separate confirm field — type the new password carefully.

I forgot my current password. Can I still change it?

Not from this screen, because it requires your current password. Sign out and use the "Forgot password" link on the login page to reset it by email instead.

When it doesn't work

  • "Current password is incorrect." — The current password didn't match. Re-type it, watching for caps lock. If you can't remember it, sign out and use "Forgot password" on the login page.
  • "Password must be at least 8 characters." — Your new password is too short. Choose one with at least 8 characters.
  • "Add a lowercase letter.", "Add an uppercase letter.", "Add a number.", or "Add a symbol." — Your new password is missing one of the required character types. Use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, at least one number, and at least one symbol.
  • "New password must be different from your current one." — You entered your existing password as the new one. Pick a different password.
  • "Too many attempts. Try again in a minute." — You changed account details several times in quick succession. Wait a minute and try again.
