Read your dashboard

What this does

Your dashboard shows what needs action and summarizes your portfolio. It combines expiry, data quality, pricing, listing, valuation, and growth signals without estimating renewal costs.

How to do it

1. Open "Dashboard" from the left sidebar.
2. If your portfolio is empty, use "First steps" to connect a registrar or add a domain, review intelligence when it is ready, and start tracking an opportunity.
3. If your portfolio has domains, open "Needs attention" and choose "Review first" beside an issue. The link opens the first affected domain on the existing tab where you can review or update it.
4. Read "Total invested", "Est. portfolio value", "Potential profit", and "Active backorders".
5. Scan "Portfolio at a glance" for domain, watchlist, listing, and valuation coverage.
6. Use the charts to see value by extension, categories, top domains, and invested value over time.

Common questions

What does "Needs attention" check?

"Needs attention" counts expiry dates due now or within 30, 60, and 90 days; missing expiry or registrar details; intelligence that did not finish cleanly; missing acquisition prices; missing asking prices or listings; and mismatched buy-now or minimum-offer settings across providers. Each count is a number of affected domains, not a renewal-cost estimate.

What does a listing price mismatch mean?

A listing mismatch means the saved buy-now or minimum-offer setting differs between at least two providers for the same domain. Click "Review first" to open that domain's "Manage" tab and compare the current provider rows before changing a listing.

How does the first-run checklist know I have started?

"First steps" uses your current account state. Connecting a registrar or adding a domain completes the first step. An enriched domain shows "Ready" when its intelligence can be reviewed. Watching a domain or saving a Smart Acquisition rule completes the opportunity step.

What does "Total invested" mean?

"Total invested" adds up the acquisition price of every domain in your portfolio. It only counts domains where you have recorded what you paid, so the card also tells you how many domains that covers. Set an acquisition price on a domain's "Manage" tab to include it.

How is "Est. portfolio value" calculated?

"Est. portfolio value" adds up the estimated potential-sale value of your domains. The estimate is a likely transaction value, not a guaranteed price. Only valued domains count toward the total, and the card shows how much of your portfolio that covers.

How is "Potential profit" worked out?

"Potential profit" is your estimated portfolio value minus your total invested. A green number is above recorded cost; a red number is below. Treat the result as a signal, not a promise.

What counts as an "Active backorder"?

"Active backorders" counts only backorders whose drop is still ahead. A domain stops counting after it drops or its drop window passes. Open "Backorders" for the full list.

Does the dashboard include renewal costs?

No. The dashboard uses expiry dates to surface timing risk, but it does not invent or estimate renewal costs. Check the current renewal price with the registrar before deciding whether to renew a domain.

When it doesn't work

• "First steps" says progress could not be checked — Refresh the dashboard. You can still use "Add domain" or "Connect registrar" from the error card.
• "Needs attention" could not check portfolio health — Refresh the dashboard. If the message remains, open "Portfolio" and review the affected domains directly.
• "Est. portfolio value" stays a dash — None of your domains has a valuation yet. Valuations appear after enrichment finishes; check back shortly.
• "Portfolio growth" shows a placeholder — The growth chart needs domains added across more than one month. It fills in as your portfolio builds over time.
• A number looks too low — Check the coverage hints on the cards. Value counts valued domains, and invested counts domains with a recorded acquisition price.
