Dynadot currency and coupon code
Updated 2026-06-17
What this does
The Dynadot "Settings" panel has two options that apply when you register a domain through Dynadot:
- Currency — the currency Euphyr uses for the registration. It must match the currency of your Dynadot account balance, because Dynadot does not convert at registration. If your balance is in Euros and this is set to US Dollars, the registration won't go through. It defaults to US Dollar (USD).
- Coupon code — an optional code applied to your Dynadot order, such as the recurring ".com" promotion code 899COM. It's only used when you enter one; leave it empty to register without a coupon. Many coupons are valid only for certain extensions — when a coupon doesn't cover the extension you're registering, the domain still registers at its standard price and the coupon is skipped for that one registration.
You can change both any time in Settings.
How to do it
- Open "Settings" from the left sidebar.
- Click the "Integrations" tab.
- Find the "Dynadot" tile. If it shows "Connect", click it first and follow the connect dialog.
- Once Dynadot is connected, click "Settings" on the Dynadot tile. A panel slides in from the right.
- Under "Currency", pick the currency that matches your Dynadot account balance.
- Under "Coupon code", type a code to apply it to every Dynadot registration, or leave it empty to use no code.
- Click "Save".
Both settings are used on every Dynadot registration from then on, until you change them again.
Common questions
Which currency should I pick?
Pick the same currency as your Dynadot account balance. Dynadot bills a registration against your balance in this currency and does not convert, so a mismatch (for example, a Euro balance with this set to US Dollars) causes the registration to fail. If you're not sure, open your Dynadot account and check which currency your balance is held in.
Which currencies can I choose?
Euphyr supports every currency Dynadot accepts: US Dollar, British Pound, Euro, Indian Rupee, Polish Złoty, South African Rand, Lithuanian Litas, Chinese Yuan, Canadian Dollar, Japanese Yen, New Zealand Dollar, Russian Ruble, Australian Dollar, Mexican Peso, Brazilian Real, Indonesian Rupiah, Argentine Peso, Colombian Peso, Danish Krone, Serbian Dinar, Hong Kong Dollar, Swiss Franc, UAE Dirham, Malaysian Ringgit, Nigerian Naira, Kenyan Shilling, Czech Koruna, Bitcoin, Norwegian Krone, Thai Baht, Philippine Peso, and South Korean Won.
What is the coupon code for?
The coupon code is applied to your Dynadot order when you register a domain, so an active promotion lowers the price you pay. For example, 899COM is Dynadot's recurring ".com" registration promotion. Many coupons only cover certain extensions: Euphyr applies your saved coupon when the domain you're registering matches the coupon's eligible extensions, and skips it (registering at standard price) when it doesn't, so a ".com"-only coupon won't block a ".org" registration. The "See coupon terms" link in the panel opens Dynadot's terms for the ".com" promotion.
What happens if I leave the coupon code empty?
Nothing extra is sent — the domain registers at its normal price with no coupon. The coupon is only applied when you've entered one and saved it.
How do I know my coupon code is valid?
When you have a coupon code entered in the Dynadot "Settings" panel, Euphyr checks it against the domain-registration coupons available on your Dynadot account and shows the result right below the field. If the code is available, you'll see its price, discount, valid dates, and eligible extensions; if not, you'll see that it isn't an available coupon on your account. Whether a coupon ultimately applies to a specific domain is still decided by Dynadot at registration.
What if my coupon only covers .com but I register a different extension?
The domain still registers, at its standard price, and the coupon is skipped for that one registration. Many Dynadot coupons are valid only for specific extensions, so when you register a domain whose extension the coupon doesn't cover, Euphyr leaves the coupon off rather than letting the registration fail. You'll see a note that the coupon didn't apply, and your saved coupon stays in place for the registrations it does cover. To see which extensions your coupon covers, open the Dynadot "Settings" panel — the eligible extensions are listed below the coupon field.
Do these settings affect my portfolio or other registrars?
No. Both the currency and the coupon code apply only to domains you register through Dynadot. They don't change how prices appear anywhere else in Euphyr, and they have no effect on other connected registrars like Spaceship or name.com.
When it doesn't work
- "Settings" button is missing on the Dynadot tile — Dynadot is not connected yet. Click "Connect" on the Dynadot tile in "Settings → Integrations" and enter your API key and secret first.
- A Dynadot registration fails right after you confirm — The currency may not match your Dynadot account balance currency. Open the Dynadot "Settings" panel, set the currency to match your balance, and try the registration again.
- "That isn't a currency Dynadot supports." — The currency value didn't match Dynadot's list. Reopen the panel, pick a currency from the dropdown rather than typing one, and click "Save" again.
- "Coupon codes are letters and numbers only." — The code you entered contains spaces or symbols. Re-enter it using only letters and numbers, then click "Save".
- The coupon didn't lower the price — The coupon may not cover the extension you registered. Many coupons are valid only for certain extensions, and when yours doesn't cover the one you're registering, the domain registers at standard price with the coupon skipped (you'll see a note saying so). Open the Dynadot "Settings" panel to see which extensions your coupon covers, or check the current terms with the "See coupon terms" link. If the extension does match, confirm the code is current and typed exactly.
- "Too many actions. Slow down and try again in a minute." — You saved settings several times in quick succession. Wait a minute and try again.
