Notifications
Notifications and the inbox
Updated 2026-07-16
What this does
Notifications tell you when something happens to a domain you track, without you having to keep checking. They appear in the inbox behind the bell icon in the top bar. Euphyr can also email you when a watched domain becomes available, a portfolio domain is 30 days from expiry, or Smart Acquisitions registers a domain.
How to do it
The bell icon sits in the top bar, to the left of your account menu. A number on the bell is how many unread notifications you have.
- Click the bell icon in the top bar to open your inbox.
- Read the list — newest first. Unread items are bold with a dot.
- Click any notification to go straight to the domain it's about — a grouped notification opens the matching list instead.
- Click "Mark all read" to clear the unread count.
- Hover a notification and click the "X" to remove it from the list.
New notifications show up in the inbox on their own — you do not need to refresh the page.
Common questions
What notifications do I get?
You get three kinds today. When a domain on your watchlist becomes available, Euphyr groups names that become available close together into one digest. Portfolio domains get a reminder 30 days before their recorded expiry date. Smart Acquisitions shows when a rule registers a domain or misses one it matched.
Why is there a number on the bell?
The number is how many unread notifications you have. Opening the inbox does not clear it — items stay unread until you click them or click "Mark all read". This way you can open the inbox, see what's new, and still come back to unread items later.
Do I get an email too?
Yes. Euphyr can email a digest when watched domains become available, a reminder 30 days before a portfolio domain expires, and a confirmation when Smart Acquisitions registers a domain. Smart Acquisition misses stay in the inbox and activity log.
Can I choose which notifications I get?
Yes. Open "Settings" and go to the "Notifications" tab. "Inbox" and "Email" have separate switches, so turning off an email does not turn off the matching inbox alert.
What happens to old notifications?
They stay in your inbox until you remove them. Click the "X" on a notification to remove a single one, or "Mark all read" to clear the unread count without removing anything.
When it doesn't work
- Notification settings didn't load — Refresh Settings before changing a preference. Euphyr keeps your saved choices and does not guess their state.
- No bell in the top bar — You need to be signed in to see notifications. The bell is in the top bar on every page once you log in.
- The unread number won't go away — Opening the inbox does not mark items read. Click a notification, or click "Mark all read" at the top of the inbox.
- I didn't get a notification for a domain that dropped — Check three things. The domain has to be on your watchlist before it drops — add it from the "Dropping" page with "Watch". "Available domain alerts" has to be on in "Settings" under the "Notifications" tab. And the name has to actually become available — one caught by someone else the instant it dropped may never show as available.
- I didn't get an expiry reminder — The domain must be in your verified portfolio and have a recorded expiry date. Check that "Expiry reminders" and "Expiry reminder emails" are on in "Settings" under "Notifications".
- I didn't get an email — Open "Settings", choose "Notifications", and check the switch under "Email". Also check your spam folder and confirm your account email is current.
- A notification links to a domain I removed — If you delete the domain from your portfolio or watchlist, its detail page no longer exists. Remove the notification with the "X".
